The National Wildlife Federation, the USGS Climate Adaptation Science Center Network, and the IUCN Species Survival Commission Climate Change Specialist Group collaborated to develop “Innovation in Climate Adaptation: Harnessing Innovation for Effective Biodiversity and Ecosystem Adaptation.” This recently published guide explores innovation development and implementation in climate adaptation and natural resource management.
MW CASC Consortium Director Jessica Hellmann, a contributing author, commented on the importance of this work, “We need to adjust the way we manage for climate – and fast. And we’ll need innovation – new ideas and strategies – to meet that massive need. We do not currently have enough tools in our adaptation tool box and we need to rapidly cultivate more.”
