The Midwest CASC Tribal Research Experience for Undergraduates program will soon be accepting applications for its summer 2024 cohort! This 10-week program is hosted by the College of Menominee Nation's Sustainable Development Institute and is intended to help develop the next generation of Tribal climate change science professionals.

Past Tribal REU program participants have had the opportunity to:

  • Engage in climate change research at various Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin and Community departments.
  • Engage in fieldwork with several MW CASC-funded projects in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
  • Learn and develop research skills such as fieldwork, data collection, data analysis, and dissemination.
  • Apply knowledge to carry out project-related tasks, especially in relation to conservation and environmental management, Indigenous agriculture, and community relationship building.
  • Engage in community outreach initiatives.

More details on the program, eligibility and how to apply will be added to this page in the spring! Please direct any questions to Elissa Welch, Program Manager, [email protected].
