Nine regional Climate Adaptation Science Centers make up a network that covers the entire continental U.S., Alaska, Hawai'i, the U.S. Affiliated Pacific Islands, and the U.S. Caribbean.
The National CASC (NCASC), based at USGS headquarters in Reston, Va., serves as the national office for the CASC network. In addition to providing leadership and support to the entire CASC network, the NCASC also carries out its own research on cross-regional, national, and international scales.
All of the CASCs place emphasis on collaboration with regional partners and the production of actionable science – that is, science that addresses regional needs and is directly usable in resource management decisions, actions, and plans.
