2023 Tribal REU Program Accepting Applications

The Midwest CASC Tribal Research Experience for Undergraduates program is now accepting applications for its summer 2023 cohort! This 10-week program is hosted by the College of Menominee Nation's Sustainable Development Institute and is intended to help develop the next generation of Tribal climate change science professionals. Undergraduate students who are interested in working with stakeholders or Tribes to create actionable science are particularly encouraged to apply. 

Tribal REU program participants will have the opportunity to: 

  • Engage in climate change research at various Menominee Indian Tribe of Wisconsin and Community departments. 
  • Engage in fieldwork with several MW CASC-funded projects in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and/or Michigan.
  • Learn and develop research skills such as fieldwork, data collection, data analysis, and dissemination.
  • Apply knowledge to carry out project-related tasks, especially in relation to conservation and environmental management, Indigenous agriculture, and community relationship building.
  • Engage in community outreach initiatives.
