Narda Jimena Triviño Silva is a PhD student in the Department of Forestry at Michigan State University. Her project aims to elucidate the abiotic and biotic mechanisms involved in the successful regeneration of oak under red pine in the Great Lakes States region. She is particularly interested in plant-soil feedback effects, mycorrhizal associations, soil microbial ecology, and their applications for climate-informed optimization of forest ecosystem resources. Previously, Narda obtained her BS in Biology and Microbiology from the Universidad de Los Andes in Colombia and completed her MS in 2020 at Purdue, where she investigated the role of microbially mediated organic matter priming in organic crops.
