Grace Affram

MW CASC Postdoctoral Researcher

Grace Affram is a MW CASC postdoctoral researcher based at Indiana University, working under the Environmental Resilience Institute. Her research focuses on exploring the role of urban systems and green infrastructure in fostering climate resilience for Midwest ecosystems. Specifically, Grace is investigating how extreme events influence urban landscapes and how these environments can mitigate climate stressors and enhance ecosystem resilience across the region.

Originally from Ghana, Grace earned her bachelor’s degree in Meteorology and Climate Science before pursuing a master’s degree in Earth System Physics at the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) in Italy. She recently completed her PhD in Climate Science at Utah State University, where her research investigated the drivers of the U.S. hydroclimate using hydrology models, climate data and coupled climate model experiments.
