June Science Seminar: Introducing New MW CASC Projects

Through the Midwest Climate Adaptation Science Center, the US Geological Survey funds climate adaptation research to help fish, water, wildlife, land, and people adapt to a changing climate. On Monday, June 23 from 12-1 pm CT, team members from the latest round of awarded projects will introduce their research.

 

 

Speakers & Projects

  • The Combined Impacts of Climate Change and Intensive Agriculture on Manoomin/Psiη (Wild Rice), a Culturally Critical Resource and Relative for Indigenous Communities  
    • Project led by G.-H. Crystal Ng of the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. Desi Robertson, MW CASC Research Coordinator, will present on behalf of Dr. Ng.
  • Assessment of Habitat Restoration and Adaptation Successes and Opportunities in the Mississippi River’s National Park Post-Emerald Ash Borer Infestation
    • Project led by Marcella Windmuller-Campione of the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
  • Restoring for Resilience: An Exploration of Past Restoration Efforts in the Great Lakes
    • Project led by Wesley Bickford of the USGS Great Lakes Science Center.
  • Provide Region-Level Support for National Parks to Complete Climate Change Adaptation Planning
    • Project led by Mariel Jones of the USGS Midwest Climate Adaptation Science Center.
