Bazile Panek of Good Sky Guidance and Ziigwanikwe Katy Bresette of Dynamite Hill Farms will discuss Indigenous knowledges in adaptation practice.

The National Adaptation Forum is a biennial convening for adaptation professionals to innovate, network, and focus on established and emerging climate adaptation issues of the day. The Forum provides opportunities for professional development through training sessions, facilitated presentations and panels, and formal and informal networking sessions.

 Bazile Panek Bazile Panek is the Founder and CEO of Good Sky Guidance, a consulting firm specializing in using of Indigenous Knowledges in environmental initiatives and advising institutions on respectful tribal community engagement. His roots come from the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Ojibwe where he was born and raised. Bazile's guiding intention in life is to "honor my ancestors and become an honorable ancestor for future generations.” |
 Ziigwanikwe Katy Bresette Maangwan odoodeman, miskwaabekong odoonjibaa, Ziigwanikwe izhinikaazo. Ziigwanikwe (Katy Bresette) is a member of the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Ojibwe from the loon clan in Northern Wisconsin. Ziigwanikwe has lived and worked in various communities as an Ojibwe educator. She now resides in Northern Michigan with her partner and their children, exploring Ojibwe food and life ways. She and her partner run Dynamite Hill Farms in their efforts to reclaim an Ojibwe centered way of life. |
