University of Missouri

Brittany Harried works at the University of Missouri (MU) with the Missouri Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit as a postdoctoral fellow. Her research at MU is focused on 1) estimating linkages among multiple thermal metrics defining lethal and sub-lethal effects of temperature on rare stream fishes, and 2) integrating results from lab studies into state efforts to prioritize watershed areas that provide the greatest value for conservation of species on the periphery of their range. She earned her PhD in 2021 from the University of North Texas with a focus on fish functional traits, and earned her Masters in 2016 from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse with a focus on bacterial soil crust communities. Brittany is particularly interested in using ecophysiology and functional traits as tools to better understand how aquatic communities are responding to anthropogenic-driven changes in the environment.
