Shengwu Duan is a postdoctoral fellow of natural resources management at the University of Missouri-Columbia. His research interest is to study temperate forest response to various natural and social factors over large spatial and temporal scales by integrating landscape models, forest inventory data, remote sensing data, and GIS techniques. Currently, he is working with a team of scientists, ecologists, and local managers to predict long-term forest changes in the lower Midwest that result from non-native plant invasions, climate change, natural disturbances, and management alternatives.
