Marta Lyons, USGS Climate Impacts Ecologist

Marta Lyons is an ecologist whose research focuses on how understanding current wildlife population and range dynamics can aid in effective conservation management for climate change adaptation. Marta provides technical assistance for US Fish and Wildlife Species Status Assessments, engages with federal, state, and tribal species working groups on wildlife vulnerability, and develops new resources to assist in adaptation planning.

Marta earned her PhD from the University of Minnesota in Ecology, Evolution, and Behavior in 2017. Prior to joining the MW CASC, Marta was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Central Florida forecasting changes to sea turtle nesting ecology and management outcomes for National Park Service beaches.
