In November 2023, the Midwest Climate Adaptation Science Center (MW CASC) held an interactive, in-person workshop in Madison, WI. The workshop, focused on adaptive capacity applications for inland fishes, was attended by 40 researchers from universities, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), and other research agencies, units, and programs.

The objectives of the workshop were to: (1) discuss the application of adaptive capacity to inland fisheries research and stewardship; and (2) identify information gaps and stewardship challenges to cultivate future collaborations. This report summarizes information collected from workshop attendees, including current understanding of adaptive capacity, research applications, emerging fisheries research, and information gaps.
