Assistant Regional Administrator for the Midwest Climate Adaptation Science Center
Kevin is the Assistant Regional Administrator for the Midwest Climate Adaptation Science Center (MW CASC). Kevin’s research and professional experience includes administration and assessment of large ecosystem restoration programs in the Midwest, development of water quality monitoring strategies, watershed modeling, and use of freshwater fisheries for environmental assessment. Kevin’s previous roles in federal government have allowed him to form extensive collaborations and partnerships to advance issues such as increasing aquatic connectivity for native riverine fish species, advancing the science and management of freshwater coastal wetlands, targeted implementation and assessment of agricultural conservation practices, and development of best practices for goal setting and assessing success of environmental restoration projects.
Prior to joining USGS, Kevin assisted in administering the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI) as a Physical Scientist for EPA’s Great Lakes National Program Office. Kevin led a collaborative team of federal, state, tribal, and partner agencies and institutions that developed 5-year action plans to tackle the most pressing invasive species and habitat/native species restoration issues in the Great Lakes. These collaborative teams then implemented a portfolio of programs and projects to meet annual and 5-year goals for the Great Lakes through GLRI investments.
